Our speed of movement is average, we specialize in excursions, designed for visiting the Danube Delta.
Our boats go at medium speed and we will stop at all points of interest to savor the wonderful landscapes, for some photos with the fauna and flora of the Delta.
Come to a day full of Adventure and learning about the Danube Delta.
The departure will be from Murighiol ➠ St. George Branch ➠ Letea Village (here we will spend a little time to enjoy a quiet place, away from the sound of the city, away from technology, a place where the feeling of freedom can be experienced at a strong intensity).
After this small stop at Letea we resume our excursion towards Sulina on the belt canal where in about an hour we will be at ➠ Sulina. Once we reach Sulina you can have a meal at one of the restaurants with Dobrogean specifics and after a hearty meal we go for a walk through Sulina to visit the attractions: cathedral, old lighthouse, buildings in the international cultural heritage, waterfront and especially the wild beach with fine sand.
After a few hours of walking, relaxing in Sulina we start our journey on the branch ➠ Sulina to ➠ Crișan (village in the heart of the Danube Delta, in continuous transformation, the main tourist destination from which access is easy both towards the wilderness, but also towards other localities.)
Then ➠ we continue our excursion on narrow channels where we arrive in ➠ Isac Lake and we will enter narrow straits forgotten places of the world where we will see a variety of birds and vegetation.
After all this adventure in the Danube Delta, towards the end of the journey we will have a very special sunset, a place where we can see the sun touching the horizon, the violet color of the sky.
In Sulina you can visit Sulina beach, the Old Lighthouse where a small museum is set up inside, the cemetery with several nationalities, the grave of Alexandru Ioan Cuza's niece, Sulina waterfront, the palace of the former European Commission of the Danube, water tower, water lilies, pelicans, channels, willows in the Danube Delta.
Letea Village, is a village with many traditional houses made of wood, adobe and reed, painted in the specific colors of the Danube Delta, green, blue and white. Once we arrive in this locality, we leave the boat and continue the Adventure with a specially equipped off-route car for the excursion to the Forest, this being the northernmost subtropical forest in Europe. Once we reach the forest we will become acquainted with the only oak forest in the world grown on a maritime (salty) ridge, lianas and a subtropical flora that cannot be found elsewhere in Romania.
The wild horses of Letea are of course the special attraction of the animal world of this place being the first nature reserve in Romania. In all our tours we strive to find the herds that graze freely on these meadows or in the forest. On the spot, the guides will tell you many other interesting things about this place.
Our program for visiting Letea Forest begins in Letea village, being the village with the most traditional appearance in the Danube Delta. Here we can still find many houses built in the local architectural style, made of clay, wood and reed, painted and decorated in the "Lipovan" and "Hahol" style.
Once we reach Letea village we will take cars specially equipped for difficult road conditions and go towards the forest, out of respect for nature we do not put cars in forbidden areas but we will leave them at a point from which we can reach quite easily to the sand dunes that we will admire ON FOOT, we see more old oaks of the forest, where we will tell you how they manage to grow in an environment incompatible with this type of trees and what was the cause of their strange forms. After we finish the objective in the forest, we will return to the cars on another path, on which we show you some more rarities of the local flora. Depending on the season, the walking tour can vary in time and distance. In the middle of summer being quite difficult to walk on the hot sand for too long. Obviously, in spring and autumn, tours can be longer, temperatures allowing this and the spectacle of nature deserving every extra step.
Tarla Popii - Here we can see two of the old oaks of the forest, although there are stories about the age of over 1000 years of these oaks, scientific studies have shown that they are 300 – 600 years old. On the oak inside the forest, lianas (Periploca graeca) and hornbeams that gave the place a very special appearance have resisted for a long time.
The large dunes - from Hasmacul Mare, are the highest dunes in the area (measuring 13 meters). Beyond these extend spectacular landscapes of strips (hasmacuri) of forest and strips of desert that give uniqueness to this place.
The small dunes - Closer to the road, can be easily accessed, you have to walk a maximum of 10 minutes from the road to them from where a spectacular landscape extends behind the dunes.
Omer's well - Once a Turk with this name lived here and the traces of his house (hut) can still be seen near the well.
We can have meals at a local household in Letea village. Here fresh fish is cooked daily, in the traditional Hahol (Ukrainian) style. If you do not want a fish menu, please let us know before we embark so we can give locals time to prepare something other than fish.
The time and place of meals will be established before the excursion, please approach us on this topic.
